This is the first installment of our "friends of re-new" posts. I know for a fact that there are lots of before and after projects just waiting for a share, so keep them coming!
"Elbow grease"...I know that Carey used a lot of "elbow grease" on this project. I can attest to the many layers of old paint coating this dresser from when we hauled it into her truck. Sometimes there are projects we know our husbands won't understand, and instead of listening to their grumbling and clear lack of vision, it's easier to call on our friends to do the heavy lifting :)
This dresser was purchased from the local thrift store for a whopping $10.00. Here is the before photo.
After a lot of hard work it is stripped down and ready for paint.
The dresser was coated with Liquitex Spray in Parchment, such a great color.
She used mahogany stain to finish it with a "tea stain" look.
Applied the same stain to the top, and sealed it off.
With some new hardware this dresser is done and placed in the perfect spot in her family room. This is such a gorgeous piece, and worth all the time and effort it took to finish.
Nice work Carey! (and thanks for sharing)
